You can join a local walking group at any of the following walking route locations:
- Point Marion-Pointer’s Path
- Masontown-A Walk Through History
- Fayette Business Park-Business Walk

You can stop at any of the walking routes and check them out. They follow a route through a community or park. Each route has been mapped out and signs have been installed so you can easily follow the walking route. Information on each one (length, map, etc.) is included on signs at the beginning of each route.

You will be given a registration form, personal walking log, a list of current walking groups and the days and times they meet to walk, and information on any current challenges and/or prizes currently underway or planned in the near future.

The three walking route sites were developed under an agreement through the Fayette County Community Health Improvement Partnership, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the University Of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health Center for Public Health Practice.
What is WalkWorks?
To increase opportunities for physical activity, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has partnered with the University Of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health Center for Public Health Practice to create a network of fun, fact-filled, community-based walking routes and walking groups. WalkWorks:
- Identifies and promotes safe walking routes
- Offers social support through guided, community-based walking groups
- Helps schools develop walk-to-school programs
- Addresses local policies to increase safe walking routes
